Once Owned by Pele himself - Champion Forever Trophy.
Once Owned by Pele himself - Champion Forever Trophy.
Pelé 1971 ‘Champion Forever’ trophy, a trophy presented to Pelé composed of a winged allegory on top of textured purple column mounted on an acrylic base with a brass plaque engraved "Pelé - Champion Forever - Los Angeles, Calif., 7-28-71 - Tony Morejon.", 42.5 by 15 by 12cm. Pele was awarded this trophy in 1971, some 6 years before he stopped playing and was sold by Pele when he auctioned off his entire collection some years before his death. These are museum pieces, one offs and very hard to find, there are few people in the world who can say that they own a trophy once owned by Pele as many of these artefacts are now in museums as they should be. We are delighted to give serious collectors the chance to own a Pele trophy. Provenance: The Pelé Collection, Julien’s Auctions, London, 7th to 9th June 2016, Lot 194 where it sold for circa $ 810 inc auction premium.
