
William (Bill) Foulkes played for Manchester United from 1951 to 1970 and survived the Busby Babes Munich air disaster, his only injury being his bottle of gin that fell out of his locker and knocked him on the head when he found himself strapped into his seat with his feet in the snow. He played 566 times as a defender for United and started in United's 1968 European Cup win over Benfica. This firtst day cover has been signed by Bill Foulkes and is not a copy or a facsimile print.
